Member | Using BML to create a notation scheme
Hallo!
I hope that the question I pose, is understandable to users.
I am searching for a way to use BML to build a notation schem for defining the structures of English sentences. I want to be able to develop a hierarchical definition going down through_
1. Sentence types and their clauses
2. The phrase content of clause types and
3. The word content of phrases.
I then want to relate the notation scheme to:
1. A syntax definition scheme for the structure and
2. Parts-of-speech definition for words used in phrases.
The last stage is to use the structure for a dual language dictionary.
Are there any forum members who have created or worked on such, or have enough experience using BML to be able to give me some ideas and suggestions about the way I ought to try and build what I want to achieve.
I would be more than pleased to hear of any experiences and I look foward to responses.
